TOMORROW'S QUILTERS SPECIAL DISPLAY - a quilt collection of fabric art blocks

Tomorrow's Quilters Quilts

Members of our Guild have offered select students, in local schools in Langley, an opportunity to have quilts made by them, with guidance. The students were given instruction in painting, stamping, stencilling, marbelling, etc. on fabric to produce quilt blocks that our guild has transformed into quilts. The completed quilts will be displayed in our Quilt Show and after that they will be donated to the students' schools to be used as they wish. The Langley Quilters' Guild is a non-profit society whose mission is to promote our love of quilting and this project focused on introducing fabric art in quilting to young people. The project has been generously supported by Opus Framing and Art Supplies of Langley and Fabricana Imports Ltd of Richmond.

Waiting For Nana Quilt Waiting For Nana quilt-detail

"WAITING FOR NANA" is an adorable child's quilt, perfect for a wallhanging for a nursery or as a quilt for a child's bed. So sweet are the bunnies as they wait for their nana by the garden gate underneath an umbrella protecting them from falling leaves. The little pockets on the rabbits' overalls are real - just perfect for storing little treasures.
The quilt was pieced and appliqued by Lana Kettley and Nora Fusevich, quilted by Shelley Gawley, and the fabrics were donated by guild members. The pattern, which was designed by Arlene Neeley, was purchased from Rabbits Haven.
Be sure to visit the Crazy Auction area at the quilt show and buy a raffle ticket for this beautiful quilt!
